Three ways in

Different people arrive with different callings.

Most students come to Canon for one of three reasons. Start with yours; the courses behind each are the same recorded lessons, examined the same way.

Earn a degree

Associate, Bachelor, Master and Doctorate programs in theology, Bible and ministry. Canon is authorized in Florida to award ecclesiastical degrees for religious vocations, and study is self-paced from wherever you are.

Become a Christian counselor

Four courses in Christian counseling, plus crisis and pastoral counseling, form the core of the track. Canon is affiliated with the IACCT for Christian counselor licensure, so the coursework leads somewhere.

Prepare for ordained ministry

Hermeneutics, doctrine, the epistles and the ministry of prayer, taught by pastors for pastors. Built for people already serving who want the grounding to serve well.

How study works

One course at a time, at your own pace.

There is no semester to wait for and no classroom to travel to. Each course follows the same four steps.

Enroll

Choose a course or a program and enroll online. Your campus login opens the same day.

Watch the lessons

Every course is a series of recorded lessons with a written summary of each. Replay any lesson as often as you need.

Sit the final examination

One hundred multiple-choice questions, taken online, marked the moment you submit. Seventy percent passes. You have three attempts.

Move to the next course

Your result goes straight to your record. Pick up the next course when you are ready.

About Canon

A small school, on purpose.

Canon University does not try to be a campus you move to. It is a faculty of working pastors and counselors, a library of recorded teaching, and an online campus that marks your work honestly. That is the whole idea.

Where we are: Orlando, Florida. Students study from home across the United States and abroad.
Our standing: Authorized in Florida as a religious institution to award ecclesiastical degrees, Associate through Doctorate, for religious vocations.
Counseling: Affiliated with the International Association of Christian Counselors & Therapists (IACCT), through which students may apply for a Christian counselor’s license.
How we teach: Recorded lessons from Canon's own faculty, with written summaries, and examinations marked online.
Who studies here: Mostly adults between forty-five and sixty-five, many already serving in a church or a counseling practice.
